Melody Raguini-Olosan
School Directress, Primary Guide
Mrs. Olosan began at Ventura Montessori in 2003 as an assistant in the Primary classroom. Mrs. Olosan has a BA in Child and Adolescent Development from California State University, Northridge. After working alongside Mrs. Wijesekera for almost a decade, Mrs. Olosan took a year off to earn her Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) diploma. She returned to Ventura Montessori in 2012 as Assistant Directress and Primary Guide.
Mrs. Olosan works with children in one of our Primary classes, facilitating each child’s personal journey of discovery and engagement with the world around them.
Indranee Wijesekera
Assistant Directress, Elementary Guide
Indranee Wijesekera has served as the Directress and Head Guide at Ventura Montessori since June 1970. She is trained in the Montessori pedagogy through Dr. Montessori’s own organization, Association Montessori Internationale (AMI). She received her AMI Diploma in Sri Lanka at Good Shepherd Maria Montessori Training Centre, where she interned under teachers trained directly by Dr. Maria Montessori.
As Directress of Ventura Montessori, Mrs. Wijesekera has developed and upheld a curriculum that adheres to the original guidelines of AMI. She is a beloved role model at the school and her passion for teaching children shines through each day in the classroom. In addition to her Montessori teaching credentials, Mrs. Wijesekera also has her music teaching degrees from Trinity College of Music London L.T.C.L. and Royal Schools of Music London L.R.S.M.
Lorie Xiong
Primary Assistant
Lorie joined Ventura Montessori School in the spring of 2015 as an Assistant Guide in Mrs. Olosan’s Primary Classroom. Her easy going nature is loved by all the VMS students, especially during the After School Enrichment Program where her Associate of Science in Early Childhood Education background shines through in her planned lessons. Miss Lorie is a Ventura County transplant, originally from Northern California.
